Woodhands cover “I Kissed A Girl,” and I like it

Toronto’s indietronica duo Woodhands *heart* Katy Perry.

And there’s no better way to show their devotion to a hot, famous, Zooey Deschanel look alike who encourages all the club girls to make out with each other than to cover her popular song, “I Kissed A Girl.”

Dan Werb and Paul Banwatt have exchanged Perry’s pop pizzazz for screaming vocals, robotic melodies and lots of dance-y noises. It’s an amazing cover, not unlike their catchy original tracks found on 2008’s critically acclaimed Heart Attack. In the words of Katy Perry, the song’s “too good to deny it.”

Now all the female indie fans at Woodhands concerts are going to be curious about the taste of each other’s cherry Chapstick. Perhaps that was the boys’ original intent …
